Process
In 2007, our Process Division has maintained an above-average service record in serving papers issued from Juvenile Courts, General Sessions Courts, Circuit Courts, Criminal Courts, Chancery Courts, and Probate Courts. We serve process for our agency as well as for other agencies that send us process originating outside our county (and sometimes outside our state) to be served inside our county.
We have a Fugitive Apprehension Unit that is an extension of and for the Process Division. Days are scheduled for this unit's personnel to work solely on serving arrest warrants.
In 2007, we received 21,457 papers. We served 14,279 and returned 7,178 for a total of 21,457 papers processed.
Although process service requests have steadily increased while available personnel has remained the same, our dedicated division employees have made personal sacrifices and have gone the extra mile to avoid falling behind in our efforts to promptly and efficiently serve the process that is channeled to our agency for service.
