DREAM
Drug Resistance Education and Anger Management (DREAM) is a collaborative effort by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office and the Sullivan County Board of Education to offer a program in the classroom to help reduce or even prevent drug abuse among our youth. The anger management portion of the program is to show ways to control anger, thereby reducing violence in our schools and neighborhoods.
The program is organized into fourteen 45-minute lessons taught by SCSO deputies. A specially trained officer is assigned to an elementary school one day a week to conduct these lessons in the 5th grade classrooms in seventeen elementary schools in Sullivan County.
DREAM teaches preventive strategies for young people who are at risk for substance abuse, violence, and other behavior problems.
